Using your employee's departure to your advantage
An employee's departure, for any reason, allows you to take a step
back and assess what your current needs are. If "Amy" is
leaving her position as a Director in charge of the development department,
is there someone else who can step up to take over a portion of the
responsibilities so the new director can focus more time on major gifts'
prospects? Can you remove the grant writing from the job description,
hire someone part-time to do it and allow more time for relationship
management? Whatever you decide, don't lose the golden opportunity
to help your organization evolve.
